This page is informational to share the negative experience/service provided by Kedalo Construction, based out of Clarksville TN, to a local business owner.

All Randy Whetsell with Kedalo Construction had to do was give us the tiles (THAT WE PAID FOR) so we can finish the job his team left incomplete. Instead of returning the stolen tiles, he chose to attack our Wildlife Conservation’s mission online. This page is a warning for residents and business owners in and around Clarksville, TN of our experience with Kedalo Construction and its owner, Randy Whetsell.

General Information

Kedalo Construction, of Clarksville TN, was hired to do construction work for a wildlife conservation center "Caledonia Forest." During the months they were hired, they failed to provide services as promised/communicated by the builder: Randy Whetsell.

Randy promised, numerous times, completion dates and failed to meet those dates. We reached out multiple times to request information on why work wasn't being completed, and he ignored/didn't communicate until we had to reach out multiple times. When he would respond, it was a short dismissive response and would be another lie of a promised finish date, which work was still not completed.

Work being done was not completed professionally and Randy was required to bring his crew back out numerous times to fix patchy/terrible work.

After we called Randy out for the numerous delays, lies, and terrible quality work, the following day he tacked on an additional $13,000+ to the invoice. His original cost he told us half-way through the build was around $25,000. Instead of making things right after we tried address with him the numerous issues and complaints, he added in an additional $13,000+ of labor/material that he failed to provide full receipts for. He then stated he wouldn’t charge us a builder’s fee due to the delays and terribly quality work from his crew - but went on to bill us that at a later date to inflate our bill and be spiteful.

He left the jobsite unfinished and the parts that were "finished" were terribly completed. We had to have our own staff come in and fix the walls, paint, windows/door paint, and patches on the flooring. They spilled black paint all over our brand new tiles because they didn't cover the floors when painting the ceilings black - which we had to pay our crew and staff to clean-up.

After the terrible quality work, and unfinished job, Randy and his company stole thousands of dollars worth of tiles after they left the job site unfinished. These tiles were billed to us on the invoice and we paid in full, in faith.

After we reached out to Randy about our tiles, that we paid for, he blew us off, cussed out my employee who had called inquiring about the pick-up of these tiles, and went on our business page and wrote negative reviews on our page along with his sons. So instead of doing right by a small business they have already lied to with numerous finish dates, do terrible quality work that lead to even more opening delays, they steal our tiles then believe they have the right to attack our business by leaving US a negative review on our Google profile.

We will share our experience with the whole of Middle TN to share what this company does to a small business owner and a wildlife conservation program. They provide us with shady business tactics then attack us on a public scale.

Randy Whetsell at Kedalo claims that we gave them a bounced check. The first/only check we paid to Kedalo our bank chose not to honor. Is it because Kedalo has a history of scamming people? Something the bank only knows. But as you can see in the image below, the whole invoice was PAID, including the inflated $13K+ that was tacked on the day after Randy is called out for lying about deadlines and the horrible quality of his team's work. This additional billing came after we were told the project would cost only around $25K and only was billed to us after we voiced our frustration of the quality of work serviced. No receipts were provided to us after the additional billing to validate these charges.

FULLY PAID invoice to Kedalo Construction by Caledonia Forest. Noting nearly $19K for the tile and "labor." A quarter to nearly half of which was stolen from our shop after work wasn't completed.

Invoice sent by Kedalo construction. Right after the owner of Caledonia Forest called Randy out for the terrible work at the shop, lack of communication, and continuous failed promised deadlines, an addition of over $13K was tacked on to the invoice. Bringing our total to over $38,000.

When Randy Whetsell was asked about a card payment option to cover costs, he complained that it costs him too much money. Before the work for the whole shop is even completed, he is already making threats to collect payment via CHECK ONLY or he would involve his attorney. What type of business owner doesn't offer a variety of payment opportunities and makes threats to demand payment via check only. We requested he provide us a billing option that allowed us to use a card option. When he provided that option, the full invoice of $38K was paid in FULL. That was a mistake from US, since he stole thousands of dollars worth of tile from our company, since we paid in good faith to complete the whole building.

Randy Whetsell demands payment for "work completed" although the work completed was terrible and 3 rooms: floors/walls were not even completed. His staff spilled paint ALL over our shop, including our brand new tiles that were installed. These back rooms are where the additional tiles were going to be installed, but he stole those tiles from our shop and abandoned the job site without finishing the work.

This is the quality of the rubber molding put by his team. On nearly every corner it was peeling and this is when we were informed the shop was "done." Does this look like $38K worth of work? Randys team had to come back out to fix their mistakes, which further delayed opening, and I was billed for this additional "labor."

After Kedalo Construction leaves the job unfinished, delays over and over with zero communication until hounded for an answer, and terrible quality of work - they then steal thousands of dollars worth of tile. After a phone call requesting these tiles, instead of trying to resolve the matter after abandoning the jobsite, Randy Whetsell and his two sons and 1 of his contracting employees go on our Wildlife conservation Google account and leave us negative reviews. This is how this man conducts business.

This is the stone work "completed" by Kedalo Construction. We NEVER approved this tile. They charged us for the cost of this tile and labor of install without any approval that this was the tile we wanted. In addition, look at the gaps left in between the stone that was never sealed.

This tile had to be stripped down by our own team and our staff had to find a replacement cover for the pillar.

This tile on the floor in the photo is the tile stolen by Kedalo Construction from Caledonia Forest. This photo was originally taken to note the NUMEROUS areas on the floor where the tile was not sealed everywhere.

We requested our windows/doors to be black. They did a horrendous job of painting them. There was paint drips all over, scratches and within the first day, the paint was peeling off the doors. We had to scrape all windows and doors clean of the awful paint Kedalo Construction applied and had to re-do everything ourselves correctly. We paid for the cost of paint and labor for Kedalo, only to be forced to re-do everything ourselves.

LAWSUIT HARASSMENT

Months after my bill is paid in full, shown paid in full as of August 3rd, 2022 - Randy Whetsell with Kedalo Construction filed a lawsuit against my business to collect an additional MADE-UP $8,000+. He filed this lawsuit on me on July 14th 2022, but his attorneys or him never reached out to tell me I had an outstanding balance until July 29th. Two weeks before they send me a made-up phony bill, they already file a lawsuit on a fully paid invoice. Further harassment and bullying. These additional charges are for a “builders fee” that Randy said he would not charge for the poor quality of service provided. He turns around and inflates my bill after invoices are fully paid as an additional harassment from the negative reviews he left us on our public page.
